Frequency Multiplexed Radio Frequency Identification

Abstract:
This is a non-provisional patent application to be filed by JSC Legal Office. Related to MSC-25843-1: The innovation provides a method based on RFID technology for localizing items to which RFID tags are affixed. The prescribed systems and methods apply to a broad range of scale and scenarios, including localization by a zone RFID reader, such as a portal; localization on a shelf, floor, or other 2D surface; and localization within a drawer or similarly enclosed volume. The innovation also provides an improvement over prior art in RFID reader antennas by significantly reducing the thickness of the antenna that is usually required to support the full bandwidth required of the RFID reader-tag communication protocol.
