The FLC Mid-Continent and Far West regional meeting starts two weeks from today! The meeting, entitled "Jump Starting American Innovation With Federal Technologies," will take place in San Antonio, Texas, September 4-6. Topics range from "Initiatives for Job Creation" to "Business and Patent Reform" to "Government Licensing." The meeting begins with a plenary session featuring NASA astronaut Don Pettit—who just returned from the International Space Station and who is also an inventor (he was recently featured in FLC NewsLink here). We will end with the great debate: "Research for Research’s Sake vs. Research for Innovation’s/Jobs’ Sake," with many other interesting and timely topics in between, such as:

  • Initiatives Supporting Job Creation
  • New and Renewed Technology Transfer Programs
  • In the Trenches: Protecting Software
  • Business Aspects of Patent Reform
  • Novel Tools for the Technology Transfer Specialist
  • SBIR/STTR
  • NASA 2012
  • Technology-to-Market Success Stories
  • Fuels Review, Budget Cuts and Needs

The meeting will close Thursday, September 6, with an evening event honoring individuals who have demonstrated excellence transferring technology to the marketplace.

Please register and make your reservations now at the meeting website.
