Picatinny Arsenal

The ARDEC Satellite Facility is a 24-hour on-site military satellite transmission and downlink capability to Southwest Asia and all other military OCONUS and CONUS locations utilizing commercial internet connectivity. This facility provides the warfighter access to many of our training support packages, Army videotapes, technical manuals and engineering drawings as down loadable content. The warfighter has access to ARDEC trainers, engineers and subject matter experts (SME) anytime, anywhere. This capability is reducing the logistical footprint by safely delivering training and expertise on the battlefield as well as providing near-real time data collection and data transfer for the SME. It may be used across the project management and engineering support spectrum by allowing engineers and other SMEs to collaborate on-line for immediate resolution to technical issues or concerns. Additionally, New Equipment Training courses may also be conducted via this capability. The classroom will accommodate up to 18 attendants and is created for distance learning instruction.
