Formed in 1941 as the nation's first military simulation systems developer, the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) serves as the Navy's principal center for modeling, simulation, and training system technologies. Within the Naval Air Systems Command, NAWCTSD is the Navy's source for a full range of innovative products and services that provide complete training solutions. NAWCTSD integrates the science of learning with performance-based training and measurement of training effectiveness that is focused on improving the performance of sailors and Marines.


NAWCTSD's mission is to be the Navy's center for research, development, acquisition, test and evaluation, and product support of training systems. NAWCTSD provides coordination and training systems support to the Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, other federal agencies, and foreign governments. This includes requirements analysis, design, development, and full life-cycle support. NAWCTSD's mission includes work in the areas of: research psychology, human factors, education, computer systems, electrical, mechanical, aerospace and industrial engineering.
