The Eau Galle Aquatic Ecology Laboratory (EGAEL) of the Engineer Research and Development Center Environmental Laboratory, located near Spring Valley, Wisconsin, offers extensive experience in field and experimental analysis of ecological and water quality processes essential for evaluating and implementing rehabilitation and management techniques for a variety of aquatic systems. Areas of expertise include watershed nutrient transport and fate, nutrient dynamics and recycling, eutrophication diagnostics and modeling, sediment-nutrient interactions, macrophyte ecology and control, and rehabilitation and environmental management of aquatic systems. The EGAEL has field capabilities for sampling sediments, water, and biota, onsite experimental facilities, and a complete 2,000-ft2 laboratory facility for conducting a wide variety of chemical and physical analyses.
