Who it’s for: Experienced T2 professionals who want to foster a thriving commercialization environment

Technology commercialization is not a program, an office, or an activity. It thrives when it's woven into the fabric of your organization. This workshop will explore three key dimensions to create a culture for commercialization. You’ll share your examples and stories with the class to create a "Top 10" checklist for each of the following themes:

  1. Cultivating Commercialization—Create winning conditions for commercialization and avoid things that will stifle your success. You’ll share your own stories and learn from others about how they’re creating an environment for commercialization.
  2. Engaging Engineers and Scientists in Commercialization—Equip your innovators to think about the commercial value of their ideas from the beginning. They play a pivotal role in technology commercialization, and you need them. After all, they are the founders of the idea!
  3. Engaging Partners and Collaborators—Explore how different labs are engaging with external partners and collaborators to accelerate commercialization. It takes a village to commercialize an idea. Your lab’s assets shape your village, so come prepared with examples and case studies.
