2018 Maryland Technology Transfer Summit
Governor Hogan invites you to join him and Maryland Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen with thought leaders from across the State to share ideas, best practices and strategies to improve the transfer of innovative technologies from universities and federal research institutions in the State of Maryland. This Summit, organized by the Maryland Department of Commerce and hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is designed specifically to put policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, early-stage, small and medium enterprises, and technology managers from leading universities and research institutes together with biotechnology and pharmaceutical licensing and business development executives, venture capitalists, and serial entrepreneurs for interactive sessions. These sessions will discuss partnering, licensing, business development and commercialization opportunities for industry, working with State programs, nonprofit organizations, public and private institutions of higher education, and federal organizations.
Participants in the Summit will:

- Learn how improving federal and state tech transfer policy and programs could benefit Maryland’s bio health, life science, cyber, and technology communities
- Build a learning network of colleagues to identify opportunities, develop partnerships, and apply best practices to their respective communities and organizations
- Gain the latest strategic insights on the ever-changing and vital roles of the State Government, Federal Labs and colleges and universities in local, regional, national, and international economic development
