Technology Investment Agreement (TIA)

Technology Investment Agreement (TIA)

Technology Investment Agreements (TIAs) allow federal agencies to leverage financial investments made by for-profit firms in research related to commercial products and processes that are relevant to an agency’s mission needs. TIAs also increase the involvement of commercial firms in an agency’s R&D programs. A TIA may be either a type of cooperative agreement or a type of assistance transaction. TIAs may require cost share from both the federal and non-federal parties.
