Clinical Trial Agreement (CTA)

The NIH uses Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs) for studies to determine the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical agents and devices. CTAs may be developed, for example, when either an NIH laboratory or a commercial entity possesses an investigational new drug (IND) application.
