First Female Private Space Explorer to Keynote T2 Meeting

Anousheh Ansari, co-founder and chair of Prodea Systems and the first female private space explorer, will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming FLC Mid-Atlantic Regional Meeting entitled "Technology Transfer: Of, By and For the People."

On September 18, 2006, Ansari captured headlines around the world as the first female private space explorer.

She also earned a place in history as the fourth private explorer to visit space and the first astronaut of Iranian descent. Back on Earth, as a successful serial entrepreneur, Ansari returned to her job as co-founder and chair of her latest technology company, Prodea Systems, which is focused on simplifying the digital home experience.

In 2001, Ansari served as chief executive officer and chair of the board for Telecom Technologies, Inc.

After earning three key U.S. patents and growing to 250 employees with 100% sequential growth since its inception, the company successfully merged with Sonus Networks in a deal worth approximately $750 million dollars.
