2010 FLC National Meeting

The 2010 national meeting of the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC), The Sky's the Limit, was held in Albuquerque, N.M., April 26-29 at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque.

Anousheh Ansari was the meeting's keynote presenter. On September 18, 2006, she captured headlines around the world as the first female private space explorer travelling to and staying onboard the International Space Station for 10 days. Afterward, back on Earth, as a successful serial entrepreneur, Anousheh returned to her job as co-founder and chairman of her latest technology company, Prodea Systems. In her previous endeavor in 2001, Ansari had served as co-founder, CEO and chairman of the board for Telecom Technologies, Inc.

The FLC offered a full day of training designed to meet the training requirements of all T2 professionals—from beginners to experienced practitioners. Through panel discussions, interactive sessions, workshops and seminars, subject-matter experts provided in-depth training in technology transfer fundamentals, intellectual property protection and licensing, technology marketing and commercialization, as well as a free-wheeling discussion of the "hottest" T2 issues of the day.

The national meeting concluded on a high note as the FLC honored the winners of its 2010 awards. Scientists and technology transfer specialists from around the country were honored for outstanding achievements during an evening of special events, which included a reception, banquet and awards ceremony.
