FLC National Meeting

Meeting Highlights

The 2009 national meeting of the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) was held in Charlotte, North Carolina from May 4-7, 2009.

Keynote Speaker: Louis J. Foreman
Louis J. Foreman was the meeting's keynote presenter. He is the founder of Enventys and has a key role with the PBS television show "Everyday Edisons." Over the past 18 years, Foreman has created five successful startup companies and been directly responsible for the creation of more than 10 others. A prolific inventor, he has eight registered U.S. patents, with seven pending.

T2 Training and Education
This year the FLC offered four concurrent tracks of technology transfer (T2) training designed to meet the training requirements of all T2 professionals—from beginners to experienced practitioners.

FLC Awards
Scientists and technology transfer specialists from around the country were honored for outstanding achievements during an evening of special events, which included a reception, banquet and award ceremony.

FLC Elections
This year, FLC voting members elected the positions of Chair, Vice-Chair, and three Members-at-Large. Regional Coordinator and Deputy Regional Coordinator elections for the Mid-Continent, Northeast and Southeast also took place.
