National Governor's Association: New Innovation Initiative
The National Governors Association (NGA) unveiled their Innovation America initiative at their annual meeting. Through this initiative the governors aim to increase national awareness about the important role of innovation. They also seek to promote innovation through focused regional educational measures such as the creation of learning labs. "The goal of my Chair's initiative is to educate our students to be innovators, and to carry that spirit of innovation through their university experience and into the workforce. Math and science education teaches true problem solving skills that, in turn, will increase our nation's capacity for innovation in virtually every field", said Gov. Napolitano.
