Consolidated Natural Resources Act of 2008 (S. 2739 - Introduced 3/10/08, passed both House and Senate, signed into public law 5/8/08 - P.L. 110-229). This multi-agency bill/law includes language directing DOE to establish "advanced energy technology transfer centers". According to SSTI, "a component [of the bill]directs the Department of Energy (DOE) to provide grants and seek partnerships for the creation of a nationwide network of advanced energy technology transfer centers. These partnerships can include entities such as state agencies and local governments, utilities, colleges and universities, national laboratories, and other nonprofits providing energy technology expertise…."
