Background/History of the Laboratory:

The Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) manages aerospace system development from concept to combat capability. ASC uses operational command input to identify capabilities required to overcome future threats and rapidly delivers these capabilities using spiral development processes. Among ASC capabilities, the Major Shared Resource Center assists by solving such computationally challenging problems as complex fluid dynamics and structural interactions. Additionally, the Simulation and Analysis Facility provides virtual environments to evaluate and test aerospace systems in realistic scenarios.
