Background/History of the Laboratory:

CIT was first established in 1964 as the Division of Computer Research and Technology (DCRT). In 1998 the Center for Information Technology (CIT) was formed, combining the functions of the DCRT, the Office of Information Resources Management (OIRM), and the Telecommunications Branch.

Mission of the Laboratory:

To provide, coordinate, and manage information technology, and to advance computational science.
