Federal Technology Transfer in Your State
The spirit of American innovation is alive and well at over 300 federal laboratories nationwide. Each year, through the efforts of over 100,000 federal researchers and scientists, the United States makes a significant investment in research and development (R&D). From advancements in medicine to improvements in national security to breakthroughs in energy production and conservation, federal R&D enhances the everyday lives of Americans while advancing the nation's socioeconomic position in the global marketplace. To ensure this benefit, the R&D must be transferred from the theoretical to the practical. To make this happen, federally employed scientists, agency representatives, and technology commercialization professionals team to patent, license, commercialize, and move technology and expertise to the American people.
