Description
- The DUST Program partners with industry to jointly fund and develop dual-use technology that has both military utility and sufficient commercial potential to support a viable industrial base, while maintaining our technological superiority on the battlefield and our industrial competitiveness in the marketplace.
Features/Characteristics
- Projects must be awarded using non-procurement agreements, i.e. Cooperative Agreements or Other Transactions. The selection process uses competitive procedures as in 10 U.S.C. 2511(e).
I.P. and Resource Commitment
- The proposing consortia must usually supply 50 percent of the total cost. The Secretary of Defense may agree to a project for which the total amount of funds provided by the government exceeds 50 percent.
