Description
- A Cooperative Agreement is an agreement between the government and a recipient whereby money or property is transferred to the recipient to support or stimulate research.
Features/Characteristics
- Similar to a CRADA, except the government can provide direct funding to the participant. Use is guided by Federal Acquisition Regulations. Flexibility enables nontraditional participation. Firms can "charge-off" their share to IR&D.
I.P. and Resource Commitment
- Typically the effort requires a cost-sharing arrangement, with the government funding up to 50 percent of the total collaborative effort.
