Description
- The UARC designation is established by Congress and administered by the Department of Defense (DoD) Director Defense Research and Engineering (DDR&E) office.
The purpose of a UARC is to provide a partnership between DoD and a university or college that provides or maintains essential engineering, research, and/or development capabilities defined as core that compliment and enhance DoD research needs.
Features/Characteristics
- Institutions that are designated UARCs have strengthened their graduate programs and benefits undergraduate and graduate mission, enhances future partnerships, etc.
I.P. and Resource Commitment
- The UARCs operate under sole-source contract to do work fitting for the DoD.
