Description
- Grants are legal instruments in which the principal purpose is to transfer funds or property to the recipient to accomplish a public purpose of support stimulation authorized by statute, and where substantial involvement by the USGS is not required or anticipated.
Features/Characteristics
- Although providing technical assistance to the awardee may be required, the USGS is essentially a "patron" of and contributor to the recipient.
