Description
- USGS: Private sector entities may use unique equipment or facilities owned and operated by a federal agency using CRADAs or Work-For-Others activities. USGS does not specifically enter into user facility agreements.
BR: The Bureau may enter into a Facility Use/Service Agreement, which is a short-term agreement that allows collaborators to use specialized facilities, equipment and/or capabilities that are not readily available from the private sector.
Features/Characteristics
- USGS: CRADAs and Work-For-Others activities are the preferred mechanisms for utilization of USGS's facilities rather than a User Facility Agreement.
I.P. and Resource Commitment
- USGS: A rental fee is charged for the equipment or facility to the private sector party with minimal or no participation by the federal agency's staff.
