Description
- The Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP) provides incentives to major DOD/DOE contractors to assist small disadvantaged businesses (SDBs) enhance their capabilities to satisfy DOD/DOE contract and subcontract requirements. It increases participation of SDBs as subcontractors under DOD/DOE, other Federal and commercial contracts, and it establishes long term business relationships between SDBs and major contractors.
Features/Characteristics
- Fosters long-term relationships between DOD/DOE contractors and SDBs. MPP supports the nation’s defense effort and contributes to a stronger economic base. Expands the business base of protégé firm by enhancing capabilities to be more competitive and successful in obtaining future government contracts.
I.P. and Resource Commitment
- SDB protégés may receive technical assistance at no cost from their prime contactor mentor.
Technical assistance costs incurred by their mentor may be credited toward their established subcontracting goals and/or included in their indirect cost pool.
