Description
- A Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (known as a CRADA or CRDA) allows the FAA to share facilities, equipment, services, intellectual property, personnel resources and other cooperation with private industry, academia, or state/local government agencies. It is implemented to develop an idea, prototype, process, or product for direct application to the civil aviation community and/or indirect application for commercial exploitation.
Features/Characteristics
Intermittent progress reports are required.
DOT does not provide funds to non-government partner, only personnel, facilities, IP, equipment, etc.
The non-government partner may provide funds, IP, personnel, equipment, etc.
I.P. and Resource Commitment
- Rights to I.P. are negotiated between the partner and DOT while allowing the government a nonexclusive, paid-up, nontransferable license to practice or produce any resulting invention on behalf of the government.
