Description:
IPSI brings together scholars, practitioners, government officials, and students in a single forum. Participants interact and share their diverse experiences and perspectives in a pleasant and relaxed New Hampshire environment, with mountains, lakes, seashore, and golf courses nearby. Courses are intensive, yet the atmosphere remains informal. Much of the curriculum is devoted to the development of sound practical intellectual property skills while other courses are more theoretical or international in approach. Up to six credits may be earned in five weeks in this concentrated, intensive program. Law students may gain professional practice skills, enabling them to "hit the deck running" when they enter intellectual property practice.
Who Should Attend
The Institute's broad curriculum is designed to meet the needs of:
¿Students and graduates of other law schools seeking more extensive course offerings in intellectual property and licensing law. Law students can earn academic credit for transfer to their home institutions.
¿University, government and corporate technology managers.
¿Graduates and graduate-level students of engineering and science interested in technology transfer.
¿Intellectual property professionals from around the world interested in learning more about US intellectual property and technology transfer law and practice.
One of the special values of the Institute is the exchange of information and perspectives among practicing attorneys, technology managers, and students from the US and abroad. Past experience has shown that Institute students can learn from each other, as well as from their instructors.
